We are well and truly into Winter now, half way to be precise! I don’t know about you but it seems like Winter came way to early this year? Too cold to go outside? Got the feeling of cabin fever? Tired of looking at the same four walls that surround you? If this sounds all too familiar here are some simple stying tips to help add warmth, colour and revive your home this Winter. The 10 Winter Warmers For Your Home are: 1. Soft furnishings- add some new cushions to your sofa, don’t be afraid to introduce some colour, texture, patterned and different sized cushions to your sofa. I always like adding a winter throw to the scene this time of the year, draped over the arm of your sofa this adds instant cosiness to your room and lovely to snuggle up to of an evening. Candles- Scented candles are popular this time of the year, they not only add fragrance and freshness to the room but also create a sense of ambience and maybe a little romance. Handy Tip- Make sure they are 100% soy and remember to trim the wick in between burns! 3. Rugs- Floor rugs are so on trend at the moment rectangular or round I don’t mind, I love both shapes especially anything made of natural fibres or a combination of- jute, hemp, sisal, cotton. They look great on the  floor of any room, try one at the entrance of your front door it  has an instant welcoming feel. Herbs- This time of the year our garden’s often lack blooms. Everyone loves a vase of fresh flowers in the home but if your garden is failing to deliver this time of the year. A bunch of fresh picked herbs displayed in a colourful pot in the kitchen can be just as effective. 7. Indoor Plants- Another element that is so on trend at the moment and a simple way of bringing the outdoors into your living space is adding an indoor plant. A large indoor plant displayed in that bare corner is a great way of bringing height and a different dimension to a room, displayed in a decorator concrete pot or basket…Gorgeous. Mirror- A large decorator mirror displayed above the mantel piece of a living room can reflect more light into the room and create a sense of space. This concept also works equally well in a long, narrow hallway above a console table. 9. Wall Art/Decor- A new piece of art or wall decor can add an instant change to a room. If you are looking to update your art this is the first piece you should purchase and then decorate with other wares accordingly. HighEight-HomeSlider-NEW-02 10. Rearrange Furniture- Bring your sofa’s off the walls of your room if space allows and float them in the room either in a L shape or opposite each other. If you have an open  fireplace even better, arrange your pieces around that. It creates a sense of cosiness and draws your attention to the open flame…Mesmerising! Have fun and get creative! Lisa x
